KUCHING, July 27 (Bernama) -- The Kuching leg of the KL Tower International Jump Malaysia 2008 circuit on August 3 is expected to see Utusan Malaysia Kuala Lumpur-based photographer Mohd Noor Mat Amin attempting the record breaking feat of climbing up the Menara Pelita's staircase here 51 times.
Apart from Mohd Noor, 40, his four-year-old son, Muhammad Syahrulnizam would also climb the staircase once, with both attempts to be recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records, event organiser KL Tower International BASE Jump Merdeka Circuit said in a statement, Sunday.
It said 20 foreign and local jumpers were expected to particpate in this year's base jumping event for Sarawak, before moving on to Sabah at Menara Tun Mustapha in Kota Kinabalu on August 9, Menara Alor Star, Kedah (August 15-17) and Menara Komtar, Penang (August 23-24).
This year's circuit with the tagline "Ultimate Test Of Courage" is aimed at creating a unique international event that serves as an ideal platform for the country as well as the participating states to implement programs for the youth to promote clean living.
In conjunction with the jump here, activities and promotions unique to each state will be held, such as those being held in the vicinity of Menara pelita, including a youth carnival that will feature a mini-concert by several popular local artistes.-- BERNAMA
